During this crucial meeting, it was decided by the officials that the names of the Congress candidates would be officially unveiled in the presence of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge. The second-phase discussions will involve State President Deepak Baij, State In-charge Kumari Selja, Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev, and Assembly Speaker Charandas Mahant. New Delhi, September 4, 2023: With the G20 summit fast approaching, Delhi is gearing up for heightened security measures and widespread closures from September 8 to 10. The summit, set to be held in the national capital from September 9 to 10, will see prominent world leaders in attendance, including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Delhi Police has left no stone unturned. We need to make sure that the event is safe and secure. Several key metro stations have been placed on the list of sensitive locations as part of the security arrangements. These include Dhaulakuan, Khan Market, Janpath, Supreme Court, and Bhikaji Cama Place metro stations.
From September 8 to 10, the following metro stations will be closed entirely during VIP movements: Moti Bagh, Bikaji Cama Place, Munirka, RK Puram, IIT, and Sadar Bazar Cantonment. Passengers will neither be able to enter nor exit from these stations during this period, necessitating alternative travel plans for those in the affected areas.

The Supreme Court Metro Station, the closest station to the G20 venue, will remain closed. This temporary closure will be in effect from the night of September 7 to the evening of September 11, causing potential disruptions for commuters heading to the airport.

In addition to metro station closures, Delhi Police has issued orders to close various establishments in the interest of security. Government and private offices, educational institutions, banks, and financial institutions will remain closed throughout the G20 summit.

Moreover, markets in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area, such as Connaught Place and Khan Market, will also observe closures during the summit period. Liquor shops within the New Delhi Police District area have been ordered to shut down temporarily.

However, it’s not all closures and disruptions. Malls and markets outside the NDMC area will continue their operations, offering some respite to shoppers during the summit. Essential services such as milk and medicine shops will remain open, ensuring the public’s basic needs are met. Delhi Metro stations, except for the Supreme Court Metro Station, will continue operating as usual, providing an alternative means of transportation for the city’s residents.

As Delhi readies itself to host the G20 summit, residents and visitors alike are urged to plan their travel and activities accordingly, considering the security measures and closures that will be in place during this significant global event. The world’s attention will undoubtedly be on Delhi as leaders from the world’s largest economies convene to discuss critical global issues, making it a momentous occasion for the city and the international community.
