But now the situation has changed, and with the return of Hemant Soren, our coalition has decided and chosen Hemant Soren as our leader. Hence, I am resigning from the position of Chief Minister.”

Hemant Soren was released from jail on June 28 after nearly five months. The High Court granted him bail in a money laundering case related to an alleged land scam. Before his arrest on January 31, he had resigned from the CM position. Hemant Soren is accused of illegally acquiring 8.86 acres of land worth over ₹31 crores. Immediately after his resignation as Chief Minister, he was arrested by the ED on January 31 in connection with the alleged land scam. Hemant Soren’s return marks a significant turning point in Jharkhand’s politics. He has previously served as Chief Minister and has significantly contributed to the state’s development. The altercation originated from a dispute over the selection of election committee members at the School of Languages. Students from both factions engaged in physical altercations, as seen in the videos. One disturbing clip shows a student bleeding from his head, while another captures an individual hurling a bicycle at a group of students. Some injured students were reportedly admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, according to a JNU official.

As of now, the university administration has not released an official statement on the incident. Both student groups involved, however, have traded blame for the clashes. The police, on the other hand, state that no complaints have been filed in connection with the incident.

The Left-affiliated Democratic Students’ Federation (DSF) and All India Students Association (AISA) accused ABVP members of disrupting the meeting. They claimed that casteist and sexist slurs were used to threaten students and even alleged heckling of security guards.

One of the key initiatives is the Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd (HURL) Sindri Fertiliser Plant, developed at a cost of over ₹8,900 crore.
