The instructor who tied the Rakhi in the classroom has since been fired.

A teacher at a public middle school in Khagaria named Sunil Kumar has been placed on administrative leave. Sunil Kumar has been suspended by Khagaria Municipal Council Executive Officer Ranvir Kumar on the advice of the Education Department. Two days prior, the DPO of the education department had written to the executive officer of the municipal council requesting the department take action and suspend instructor Sunil Kumar. The executive officer gave the teacher Sunil Kumar a suspension order after receiving the DPO’s letter.

In Mathurapur, Khagaria Municipal Council’s middle school is where Sunil Kumar is employed. On Rakhi Day, a video of him was released. In this, Sunil Kumar, a teacher, is seen tying a rakhi to his sister on the school’s grounds. Sunil Kumar is heard on the video indicating that KK Pathak was powerless to stop his sister. In order to connect Rakhi to her brother, his sister relocated from Bhagalpur to Khagaria.  Sunil Kumar is also raising a stink in this video over KK Pathak for calling off the Raksha Bandhan holiday.

Ranvir Kumar, the executive officer of Khagaria Municipal Council, claimed that teacher Sunil Kumar had made an inappropriate statement about a senior officer. Sunil Kumar was then immediately suspended based on the DPO of the Education Department’s recommendation. In the meantime, the teacher’s actions have been denounced by the Bihar Teachers Association. Manish Kumar Singh, the state vice-president of the union, stated that although his group does not agree with the teacher’s offensive statement, it was incorrect to call off the Raksha Bandhan holiday.
